Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and developing high-performance backend systems using Nest.js.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading backend development for blockchain applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability. You will also be responsible for architecting and developing systems for a crypto asset derivatives exchange, including real-time order book management and data processing.

Additionally, you will integrate multiple data sources and APIs, ensuring robust security and data integrity for high-frequency transactions. Your expertise in optimizing backend performance for low latency and high throughput in financial applications will be essential in meeting the demands of this role.

You will collaborate with frontend teams on API design and system integrations for highly responsive applications. Participation in solution design to meet security, performance, and accessibility standards is also a critical aspect of this position.

Mentorship of junior team members, code review, and promotion of best practices will be an integral part of your responsibilities. Collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams to align on project timelines and requirements will be crucial in ensuring successful project outcomes.

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development, with 2+ years specifically in Nest.js.
  • Deep expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases, understanding their use in high-speed transaction environments.
  • Strong experience with real-time systems and WebSocket implementation for live data streaming.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, project planning, and backend project management.
  • Startup experience and an adaptable, collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
