Job Description
As a member of our launch complex team, you will be responsible for designing oil hydraulic systems for our launch pads. This includes designing elements such as hydraulic circuits, valves blocks, cylinders for launch ramp erection systems, and rocket release systems.
You will play a crucial role in the testing and validation processes, ensuring the overall quality and performance of our launch pad oil hydraulic systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and testing hydraulic circuits for launch pads, ensuring safety and reliability.
- Selecting and sizing components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters, fittings, and sensors.
- Developing hydraulic schematic circuits and piping system designs according to technical and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production, tests, or mounting.
- Performing documentation related to test bench procedures and tests.
- Collaborating with external vendors for the procurement of necessary equipment, components, and services related to launch pads hydraulic systems development.
Necessary Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field such as industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in 3D design software (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, NX, Catia or Inventor).
- Knowledge of functions, specifications, and characteristics of components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, accumulators, filters, hoses, fittings, and sensors.
- Knowledge to design hydraulic circuits and schematics using standard symbols and conventions (ISO 1219-1 and 1219-2 standards).
- Knowledge in calculations of pressure drop, flow rate, and power consumption.
- Ability to identify and resolve any problems or faults that may arise in the operation or performance of the system.
- Capacity to design hydraulic systems that meet the needs of launch pad requirements and creativity to overcome any challenges or limitations that may arise in the design process.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
