We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to help us shape our cloud architecture and drive innovation in our technology landscape.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud architectures to meet our business needs. They will work closely with our Data Engineering, Data Science, and Software Development teams to contribute to the design of cloud solutions for our products.

Candidates for this role should have a proven track record of maintaining and developing cloud-based architecture for large-scale data initiatives. They should possess expertise in translating business needs into scalable cloud solutions while ensuring security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into scalable and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Designing and implementing optimized and secure cloud-based/cloud-native architecture.
  • Developing and documenting cloud architecture designs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Providing expertise in cloud and platform engineering to our Product Data team, ensuring alignment with our company's strategic goals.
  • Contribution to the selection and integration of cloud-based vendors, tools, and frameworks.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging trends in cloud engineering and introducing new technologies or practices that can benefit our organization.
  • Implementing security measures to safeguard cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Conducting regular security assessments and addressing vulnerabilities promptly.
  • Monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Implementing performance tuning strategies to enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Leading the deployment of applications onto our cloud platform, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Managing and monitoring cloud applications to maintain performance, availability, and scalability.

Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud architectures. They should also have expertise in constructing, installing, and maintaining large-scale cloud-native and cloud-based architecture.

Additional requirements include:

  • Database management expertise in Postgres, Snowflake, and Lucene-based search engines.
  • Cloud-Native tooling expertise in Amazon S3, AWS EMR, Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon Sagemaker, Amazon ECS, Amazon ECR, Amazon VPC, and Amazon IAM.
  • Cloud-based Application tooling expertise in Databricks administration.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Cloud Certifications from Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
