Role Overview

\

This is an exciting opportunity for a Concrete Production Manager to join our team at our Hillhead readymix concrete plant. The role is fast-paced, dynamic, and extremely varied. You will be responsible for supervising and operating a busy ready-mix concrete batch plant in Cullompton ensuring both the fixed and mobile plant is operated safely and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities

  • To comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and standards.\
  • Production of RMX concrete as per QSRMC requirements and internal Quality Procedures.\
  • Carry out pre-start checks to both fixed and mobile plant and report defects accordingly using internal systems.\
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of incoming raw materials (Aggregates, admixtures, cements).\
  • Completing weekly and monthly stock checks.\
  • Induct all haulier drivers, visitors & customers coming onto site, projecting a professional image and ensuring that site rules are complied with at all times.\
  • A hands-on approach working with contractors to control and organise plant maintenance as required.\
  • Carry out general housekeeping duties and site improvements.\
  • A flexible and positive attitude to working times in line with business requirements is essential.\
  • Ensure completion of all KPIs and update as and when required.\
  • Must be computer literate in the use of Google Drive, G Mail, JD Edwards, PowerPoint, Google Excel, and Word.\
  • Supervisor experience is a must. Experience in operating mobile plant, ideally a Front-end loading shovel.\
  • Familiarity with production processes and quality control.\
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.\
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.\
  • Proactive approach to improving processes and reducing costs.\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.\

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.\
  • Experience with inventory management and tracking.\
  • Knowledge of cementitious materials and their applications.\
  • Understanding of quality control principles and practices.\
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance.\
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, plus bonus, 25 days holiday (with options to increase) and other benefits recognising the contribution you bring.
