Job Description:

Semantic Expert for Data Semantics

BASF's Data & AI Powerhouse is seeking a Semantic Expert for Data Semantics to strengthen and expand our semantics capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain ontologies that serve as the foundation for future knowledge graphs.
  • Design, create, and maintain knowledge graphs for different business objectives.
  • Support and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams on ontology and knowledge graph exploitation.
  • Evaluate and enhance the team's data governance policies, standards, and best practices for effective ontology and knowledge graph management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in ontology development, including designing and implementing ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic models.
  • Proven experience in knowledge graph creation and exploitation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, domain experts, and data scientists.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a proactive and self-driven attitude.
