Job Title: Adjunct Supervising Dentist for Dental Hygiene Clinic Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Supervising Dentist to join our team at Owens Community College's Dental Hygiene Clinic. This is a part-time opportunity that offers the chance to teach and mentor students in a clinical setting.

About the Position:

The Adjunct- Supervising Dentist for Clinical position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair, or other leadership members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaches assigned topics as scheduled, ensuring students receive comprehensive instruction and feedback.
  • Supports curriculum embracing diversity, fostering talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Considers individual differences of students to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities.
  • Participates in the identification of students with academic or other needs and responds accordingly.
  • Uses technology appropriately to enhance learning and communicates clearly to students regarding expectations.
  • Maintains accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Communicates progress and feedback to students throughout the semester.
  • Fulfills syllabi requirements and attends clinic sections punctually.
  • Employs assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
  • Engages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
