We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Kubernetes infrastructure organization in India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure for deploying and maintaining hundreds of Kubernetes clusters that host applications on our multi-cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Develop Go Clients/Projects: Build, maintain, and scale Go clients/projects and their support tools to ensure seamless deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters.
- Contribute to New Relic Infrastructure: Collaborate with our team to develop and manage the New Relic infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of our customers.
- Open Source Contributions: Contribute to open-source projects, such as Cluster API, to enhance your skills and reputation as a Kubernetes expert.
- Service Improvements and Research: Work with our team to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services to solve complex problems, and ensure our infrastructure remains secure and efficient.
- Agile Environment and DevOps Approach: Participate in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, building and maintaining our own software, including participating in second-layer support rotations.
- Professional Experience: 4+ years of professional work experience in software development and/or operations.
- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant field.
- Programming Languages: Hands-on experience coding in Golang, Java, Python, or Bash.
- Containerization Tools: 4+ years of experience with containerization tools - Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, Crossplane, etc.
- System Administration: Solid background in application and system programming, and Linux system administration.
- Infrastructure as Code (IAC): Involvement in building Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Cloud Providers: Deep understanding of security, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of distributed systems on public cloud providers like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience working with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Travis CI, Circle CI.
- API Design and Development: API design and development exposure with Go programming language.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Linux Operating System: Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and concepts such as virtual machines and containers.
- Open Source Development: Active participation in open source development.
