The Senior R&D Engineer will contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems. They will be part of the PyAnsys Core team and work closely with other teams to facilitate shared features and tool usage.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain, test, and document software modules and sub-systems.
- Learns and employs best practices in software development.
- Performs bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
- Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience.
- Working experience in technical software development via academic, research, or industry experience.
- Proficiency in several programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, C++, C#, Java, and back-end frameworks like Node.js and Django.
- Understanding of API development, integration, and protocols like REST and gRPC.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Open-Source practices and projects.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as frameworks like React.js and Angular.
- Experience with database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.
- Experience with containers, monitoring, logging, etc.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices.
- Basic knowledge of Finite Element simulation.
- Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
