Job Title: Mission Segment Engineer

GMV is seeking a highly skilled Mission Segment Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Galileo Mission Segment Maintenance (GMS) team, you will provide remote support from our offices in Tres Cantos to our control centers in Italy, Germany, and France.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support operator/L1 and L3 teams for anomaly management and resolution, system restoration, vulnerability management, and security incident management.
  • Investigate complex systems, create workarounds, and/or solutions to recover nominal operations.
  • Support L2 maintenance teams both front and back office.
  • Support AIV tasks for Galileo GMS and occasionally GSC.
  • Define test documentation (including its maintenance).
  • Support the preparation and execution of system validation and non-regression campaigns.
  • Provide input for configuration management activities, including updates to relevant tools.
  • Support maintenance-related milestones.
  • Support integrated maintenance design and anomaly analysis in Galileo systems.
  • Provide input for the delivery of minor and major evolutions of the GMS infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Analytical ability to investigate anomalies.
  • Ability to follow procedures, but with creativity to find alternative solutions if these fail.
  • Ability to coordinate complex tasks within the limits of the team.
  • Knowledge of GNSS (Galileo or other navigation systems).
  • Experience in validation campaigns and/or in operations systems/control centers.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, SW, HW applications, networks.
  • Experience in writing technical documents.
