The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is a leading research center in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Our mission is to achieve excellence in research and innovation, and to contribute to the development of new technologies and materials. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Support Technician to join our team in the Nanostructured Functional Materials group (NANOSFUN).
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of novel molecular and polymeric functional nanomaterials, with a focus on the design and fabrication of polymeric coatings for the modulation of surface properties. They will work closely with our research team to develop new materials with outstanding features, and to apply these materials in various fields such as health, energy-efficient devices, and environment.
The main tasks and responsibilities of the candidate will include the fabrication, characterization, and final validation of polymeric coatings based on different formulations containing catechol moieties. They will also be involved in the process of capturing selected contaminants such as antibiotics, nitrates, and metal oxides, among others. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary project covering chemical synthesis and functionalization, materials science, characterization techniques, and prototype validation in relevant environments.
