As a leading engineering consultancy, Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Europe. We are currently recruiting for a Renewable Energy Project Leader - Electrical Expert who will provide electrical engineering support in the delivery of owner's engineer roles on large scale on and offshore renewable energy projects.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work on international projects, understanding and managing country and region-specific factors. This includes providing electrical engineering technical input into projects at various stages (from feasibility to preliminary and detailed design, construction, and operational stages).

You will undertake technical reviews of electrical engineering design documentation and report on findings, including the review of drawings, system studies prepared by third parties, and grid connection agreements. Additionally, you will conduct feasibility and concept-level electrical designs for renewable projects.

Liaison with transmission and/or distribution companies before and during the construction of renewable energy projects to discuss technical electrical aspects of grid connections is also a key responsibility. You will contribute to the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and employer's requirements to a high-quality standard, including the application of relevant standards in different jurisdictions.

Other duties include attending project sites to coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities, performing quality assurance inspections of electrical equipment during the installation phase, and undertaking high-level reviews of SCADA and C&I systems for renewable energy projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Chartered engineering status with a professional body (preferred), and a keen interest in the rapidly changing energy sector.

A thorough understanding of the grid connection process for renewable projects, written and oral interpersonal skills (English) to communicate with colleagues and clients, and an understanding of current and relevant health and safety regulations, good industry practice, and engineering standards are essential.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. Location

This role is based in Europe, with regular travel to international locations required.
