Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Climate and Energy Transition Specialist to provide administrative and program-related support to our team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees and grant seekers, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Work closely with the Grants Management team to ensure that grantmaking adheres to established policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support to the Program Officers and Director, including calendar management, research, and data entry.
  • Manage grants administration tasks, including tracking grant start and end dates, due dates for deliverables and reports, and changes to grant timelines and scopes of work.
  • Conduct research to inform grantmaking decisions, reviewing organizations' websites, financials, and reports to gather background information on prospective grantees.
  • Draft, format, and proofread written materials for grants, including grant summaries, budgets, and overview memos.
  • Support the CCE program's strategy development, learning, and evaluation, communicating the program's strategy and grantmaking guidelines to internal colleagues and in external meetings.
  • Track current research, policy changes, and trends in the areas of energy, climate, and philanthropy by reviewing news and professional publications and attending related conferences, meetings, and other events.

Requirements

  • Able to manage and prioritize a large volume of tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Able to read, write, and produce professional written materials in English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
  • Reliable, resourceful, proactive, and motivated to find creative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Able and willing to quickly learn and use new systems of technology, such as Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, Zoom, and Box.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 per year.
