Job Description:

A position has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space for a Structural Design Engineer to join the Aerostructures Design area.

The successful candidate will be integrated into the structural design team, applying cutting-edge technologies in composite structures and modern procedures for aeronautical design.

The area is responsible for the structural design and integration of major airframe components, including EUROMALE and Dassault Falcon 10X Empennages, as well as modifications and structural sustaining of other Aerostructures projects in production and in service.

The department also prepares technical proposals for new Aerostructures projects for military or civil aircraft.

Main Activities:

  • Design and validation of composites/hybrids components and assemblies, optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, and production/assembly requirements, ensuring the highest safety of the product.
  • Structural definition and architecture of airframe components.
  • Components documentation for manufacturing and assembling mechanical.
  • Planning and follow-up of structural design deliverables.
  • Components specification for purchasing.
  • Interfacing with external customers, partners, and suppliers, and communicating with corresponding stakeholders in design reviews, test reports, and project follow-up meetings.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Industrial (Mechanics).
  • Internships or postgraduate experience in airframe or composite structures disciplines will be valued.
  • Knowledge of composite structures will be valued.
  • Knowledge of CAD design in CATIA V5 or 3DEx will be valued.
  • Usual back office tools (use of MS Office is required).
  • Motivated, proactive, and a dynamic team player.
  • Committed to their own development to learn new skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Agility to incorporate changes and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Listening and communication skills.
