The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our Speech and Language Technologies team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of AI resources for Spanish and Catalan, and driving innovation in the field of natural language processing.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of ML engineers, data engineers, and computational linguists in the development of speech-to-text models and other AI projects.
- Take ownership of model and software development for prototypes, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Collaborate with the Speech team leader to drive technical project aspects and determine team priorities.
- Write requirement documents for prototype development and participate in technical meetings with collaborators.
- Mentor junior team members and apply for research projects to advance the field of speech and language technologies.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Applied Linguistics, or related disciplines.
- At least 2 years of experience in leading engineering teams and 4 years of experience in deep learning frameworks.
- Published papers on deep learning, specifically in speech, and experience in project management and product development.
- Knowledge of version control tools and MLOps best practices.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish and other European languages is advantageous.
