Senior Manager of AML Compliance in European Payments

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance efforts within our European Payments operations. As part of our Business Enablement team, you will be responsible for managing the KYC/AML processes across our continental Europe operations, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance.

About the Role

This newly created position will oversee the implementation and maintenance of our AML compliance programs, working closely with our General Counsel Office, Compliance, MLRO Team, Regulatory Reporting, and GMS Control Management teams. You will be the key point of contact for all AML-related matters, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication across departments.

Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and monitoring our AML compliance programs, ensuring they meet or exceed EU regulatory requirements. This includes analyzing regulation, conducting risk assessments, developing policies and procedures, and providing guidance to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and drive AML initiatives within our European Payments operations, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, MLRO Team, Regulatory Reporting, and GMS Control Management, to ensure effective AML program implementation and maintenance.
  • Design and implement AML training programs, providing guidance and support to employees to ensure a strong understanding of AML compliance.
  • Support and coordinate internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in law or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in compliance-related work, preferably in the EU banking or financial services industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of payment services regulations, including AML/CTF laws and EU regulatory bodies.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing regulatory compliance programs, with expertise in analysis, risk assessment, policy development, and monitoring.
  • Strong analytical skills, innovative problem-solving approach, and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence colleagues.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbal and written, with additional language skills a plus.
