As a Data Center Regional Mechanical Engineer at Engineeringuk, you will play a key role in providing full life-cycle support to our data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. This includes performing design and equipment submittal reviews, troubleshooting site/equipment failures, and directly supporting operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Equipment Submittal Review: Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new data centers in your region.
- Troubleshooting and RCA: Troubleshoot site/equipment failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation.
- Operational Support: Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
- Conceptual Design and Upgrade: Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency, and sustainability.
This role requires strong engineering judgment, the ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty/ambiguity, and a detail-oriented approach. You will work closely with internal data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
