**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Civil Engineer to join our team at John Wood Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading large-scale civil engineering projects and ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with our company's health, safety, environmental, and quality management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the civil engineering team on large or complex projects, responsible for the administration, overall technical direction, and coordination of all civil/structural engineering and design work.
- Ensure that all activities carried out by the civil engineering and design group personnel comply with and support the company's health, safety, environmental, and quality management system.
- Assess technical and human resources for assigned projects and ensure that all assigned civil engineering activities are carried out within the agreed manhour budgets, cost budgets, and time schedules.
- Review and approve project schedules to ensure that all dates, rates of progress, and design periods are realistic.
- Identify circumstances that may result in contract changes and prepare manhour estimates to support contract changes.
- Carry out discipline audits on civil engineering work carried out on projects.
- Prepare contract requisitions for civil and structural work on assigned projects and technical evaluations of civil and structural contract enquiries.
- Liaise with specialist consultants appointed to support the civil engineering, design group, and construction personnel.
- Carry out periodic inspections of civil and structural work during construction to ensure correct interpretation of designs and issue completion certificates for structural work.
- Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers.
- Keep abreast of developments in the civil and structural engineering field.
Requirements:
- BSc (Civil Engineering) / BEng (Civil) degree.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Projects (design and calculation).
- Excellent command of Spanish and English languages.
- Good organization, written, and oral skills.
- Knowledge of Spanish and International Standards and Codes.
- Advanced user of StaadPro and MS Office.
- Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required.
