Environmental Compliance Specialist

As an Environmental Compliance Specialist - WWTP Operations, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising daily operations of the WWTP, including effluent liquid waste management and data analysis
• Maintaining environmental operation procedures for WWTP, EVAPO, EPC, RTO, Boilers, residues, etc.
• Organizing and following up on events at the WWTP or related facilities
• Maintaining and updating Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures included in the SGI
• Ensuring compliance with corporate H&S standards and safety rules
• Warning staff of any anomalies related to production and health and safety conditions

The key focus areas of this role are:

• Supervising the real complement of environmental defined processes
• Executing established Environmental procedures
• Producing monthly site updates to Corporate group and writing reports
• Producing site reports to local and national authorities
• Goals and Key Performance Indicators follow-up of WWTP and Environmental requirements
• Non-conformances, corrective actions follow-up
• IMS Procedures: reviewing and updating
• Guaranteeing the Health and Safety of WWTP operators
• Sustainability Data Support: Global Reporting
• Waste management: Operating monitoring
• Environmental Management System ISO 14001 coordinator
• Keeping updated environmental impact evaluation and prevention plans
• Ensuring control, monitoring, and improvement of processes from the point of view of yields and costs
• Supervising SAP information provided
• Proposing improvements in equipment, work methods, safety, and environment
• Ensuring the training of WWT personnel
• Collaborating with other departments involved in production planning
• Fulfilling tasks assigned during emergencies
• Participating in incident investigations

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or equivalent
• Risk prevention basic degree (50 hours)
• English and Spanish fluency level
• Training on ISO management systems: 9000, 14000, 45000
• Training on environmental legal requirements
• Experience in emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills
• ISOs internal auditor certification
