The Community Engineer at Canonical plays a pivotal role in empowering community leaders and participants to drive project success. This involves strategic collaboration with Canonical teams to ensure community processes are efficient and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community initiatives with technical expertise and strong organizational skills.
- Facilitate the creation of new technical projects that enhance the community contribution experience.
- Represent community interests to Canonical teams and ensure their success and autonomy.
- Provide content and technical support to keep the community engaged and informed through regular blog and social media posts.
- Communicate effectively with developers and software engineers, representing the Ubuntu community and Canonical in the wider Linux ecosystem.
- Attend conferences and expos to discuss technical community projects and development processes.
What You'll Do on a Daily Basis
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to drive community success.
- Write high-quality content to promote and support community initiatives.
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding solutions to community problems.
- Work from home with occasional global travel for internal and external events.
- Nurture community contributions to Ubuntu.
- Engage with the Ubuntu community through various channels.
