Research Scientist Position in Catalytic Hydropyrolysis

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Predoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Thermochemical Processes Unit (TCPU) at Fundacion Imdea Energia. The successful candidate will work on the catalytic hydropyrolysis of residues/wastes from microalgae, plastics, and textiles.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct a thorough review of the state of the art in the fundamentals related to the project.
- Characterize and condition raw materials, including microalgae, plastic, and textile residues.
- Develop and characterize heterogeneous multifunctional catalysts for the catalytic hydropyrolysis of residues/wastes.
- Optimize the reaction system, screen the activity of catalysts, and adjust operational conditions.
- Process results and write comprehensive reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, or equivalent, completed within the last 6 years.
- Official Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Desirable skills and experience:
- Knowledge and experimental practice in heterogeneous catalysis, including catalyst synthesis and reaction running.
- Experience with analytical techniques for catalyst characterization and chemical product analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- A competitive salary between 21,000€ and 23,500€ per year, depending on qualifications and expertise.
- A contract including all benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
- A 1-year renewable contract.
