Job Summary

Serve as a Firefighter assigned to a crew engaged in airfield, structural firefighting, crash-rescue, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) operations. Drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity to respond to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials for the purpose of stopping or controlling the release, and to conduct performance of noninvasive basic first aid procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to fire incidents promptly and efficiently.
  • Driving emergency vehicles with strategic route planning.
  • Operating a variety of specialized equipment, including pumps and foam generators.
  • Utilizing advanced protective gear in hazardous situations.
  • Performing daily preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and equipment checks.
  • Ensuring all equipment is consistently maintained in optimal working conditions.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of firefighting experience in a structured fire protection role that delivers fire suppression services
  • Working knowledge of fire suppression, rescue and emergency incident techniques, operation of fire equipment, water distribution and supply requirements
  • Working knowledge of the characteristics of aircraft fuel propellants, oxidizers and weapons
  • Meet position certificates IAW DOD M
