We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Theoretical Biophysics Lab. As a Predoctoral Researcher in Computational Biophysics, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project focused on developing a theoretical framework to explain complex emergent phenomena in biological cells.
Research ProjectThe project involves the development of a theoretical framework based on the theory of phase transitions in Statistical Physics. You will work on understanding intercellular metabolic exchange networks, including their experimental validation in cancer metabolism and microbial overflow. This research has the potential to make significant contributions to the field of biophysics and has important implications for our understanding of complex biological systems.
Responsibilities- Develop a theoretical framework to explain complex emergent phenomena in biological cells
- Work on understanding intercellular metabolic exchange networks
- Conduct experimental validation of the theoretical framework in cancer metabolism and microbial overflow
- Collaborate with the research team to advance the project
- Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Good written and oral communication in English
- Strong theoretical and computational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full-time, 3-year position with the potential for a 1-year extension
- Support from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities
