As a Contract Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects within contract portfolios/subcontracts.
Salary: The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job Description:
As a Senior Transformer Contract Manager at Hitachi Energy, your primary responsibility will be to lead contract management activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with procedures and providing guidance to cross-functional project teams. You will develop contract management strategies considering policies, customer requirements, consortium partner interfaces, and overall execution strategy.
Your key tasks will include:
- Providing contract management support and contract reviews for both the sales and marketing teams and the project management office.
- Leading contract management activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with procedures and providing guidance to cross-functional project teams.
- Developing contract management strategies considering policies, customer requirements, consortium partner interfaces, and overall execution strategy.
- Overseeing the timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects within contract portfolios/subcontracts, including payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, and provisions.
- Supporting the marketing and sales process during the tender stage to assure that the legal terms and conditions to be included in the commercial proposal are fully aligned with the company’s guidelines and policies.
- Collaborating with the marketing and sales team during the risk assessment process for new proposals, following the defined process and tools defined to ensure timely internal approvals.
- Verifying that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations and assessing the contract's success, identifying lessons learned for future contracting.
- Documenting and communicating deficiencies, changes, and claims, while establishing and enforcing standard methodologies.
- Collaborating with HE Legal on negotiation strategies, dispute resolution, and settlement agreements drafting, highlighting potential opportunities and risks and ensuring the settlement terms protect our interests.
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation and opportunity plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To succeed as a Senior Transformer Contract Manager, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management within the fields of power generation, transformers, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission, or similar industrial plant.
- Experience in processing, managing, and administering varying sizes, types, and complexity of contractual agreements during the bidding, execution, and closing stages of project lifecycles.
- Previous experience in the energy industry is highly desirable.
- Experience in project change management, claim management, and contract-related legal issues (change orders and force majeure events) and the possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding proposal stage and/or project execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Law is preferred, but Engineering, Business Administration, or Economics could be suitable.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and negotiate in both Spanish and English. Additional languages are a plus.
