About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to lead our Generative AI team in driving innovation and excellence in data science. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and mentoring to a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive scalable impact and innovation in Generative AI
  • Develop and deploy disruptive Generative AI video services at scale across all OLX platforms
  • Collaborate with local data science and data engineering teams to achieve project goals
  • Work with product analytics to track KPIs and measure the impact of ML use cases on customers
  • Partner with the experimentation team to integrate KPIs and proxies into the experimentation platform
  • Drive technical efforts in fields like trust and safety, deal prediction, search, and monetization
  • Formulate data science solutions to improve business jointly with product managers and engineers
  • Ensure successful achievement of research and development objectives through stakeholder management and mentoring
Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive scalable impact
  • Eye for proactively identifying opportunities for impact in multiple domains and collaboration with multiple teams
  • Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and experience applying them to solve customer/business problems
  • Track record in leading cross-functional initiatives that span across the organization
  • Industry experience creating and productionizing machine learning algorithms at scale
  • Experience with Tensorflow or other deep learning frameworks
  • Strong engineering background with good knowledge of Python and exposure to one more programming language
  • Experience writing SQL queries and handling large amounts of data
  • Proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
