The American School of Barcelona is seeking a part-time English Language Instructor to join our team. As an ELT/TEFL Educator, you will be responsible for teaching English to non-native children ages 3-16 in a dynamic and supportive environment.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and implement engaging lessons to promote language acquisition and social-emotional growth in students.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
  • Communicate effectively with families to share student progress and solicit feedback.
  • Evaluate student language growth and prepare report cards.


Requirements:


  • Valid English language teaching credentials (TEFL, CELTA, Young Learners, etc.).
  • Valid Spanish work visa.
  • At least three (3) years of recent work experience teaching English to non-native children ages 3-16.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge and/or Oxford teaching materials and methodologies.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and mixed-ability groupings.
  • Evidence of recent professional development activities.
  • Experience working in an internationally and linguistically diverse school setting.
  • Effective oral and written communication within a school community.
  • Ability to integrate instructional technology into the curriculum.
