About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Level Designer to join our team at Socialpoint. As a key member of our game development team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the level design strategy for our Free-to-Play (F2P) games.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Benchmarking and Quality Goals: Conduct thorough research of industry benchmarks, extract best practices, and set clear quality objectives to ensure our games meet the highest standards.
  2. Level Creation: Design and create new levels using various tools, adhering to high-level objectives set by our Product Leads.
  3. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and continuously improve our level design process to achieve exceptional quality and 'fun factor' for our target audience.
  4. Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret level data to deliver actionable insights and propose improvements, ensuring our games remain engaging and challenging.
  5. Ownership of the Process: Take ownership of the level creation process, collaborating with developers and artists to oversee the implementation of new features and systems.
  6. Production Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve and streamline our production process and content creation pipeline, applying efficient methodologies to ensure timely delivery.
  7. Strategic Decision-Making: Determine the level design strategy, including layout, timing, gameplay elements, difficulty, and the overall fun factor of our games.
Requirements
  1. Professional: Passionate about video games, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  2. Team Player: Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, communicating effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  3. Problem Solver: Capable of addressing challenges and finding effective solutions, with a strong analytical mindset.
  4. Data-Driven: Always back up your ideas with available data points, ensuring informed decision-making.
  5. Gamer: Games are a central part of your daily thoughts and activities, with a deep understanding of the gaming industry and its trends.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing levels for F2P games.
  2. Strong knowledge of level design, flow, pace, and challenge balance.
  3. Proficiency in using tools to gather and process data (Tableau, Excel, etc.).
  4. Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine.
  5. High proficiency in English.
  6. Passionate gamer with in-depth knowledge of casual F2P games.
Nice to Have
  1. Management skills with experience in managing a team.
  2. Experience in managing cross-functional project teams.
  3. Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
