Data Quality Specialist
At Ignition Technology, we're seeking a skilled Data Quality Specialist to join our Global IT team. In this role, you'll work in the Data Governance section of our Global Data and Analytics Team within the wider Global IT. You'll report to the Head of Data Governance.
Your core mission will be to ensure the quality and consistency of the organization's data assets. You'll champion data governance best practices and data literacy across the organization.
You'll collaborate closely with the Master Data Management team, Operational Business Analysts, Data Stewards, and IT Data Engineers. This position is created in the context of an IT transformation, including a move to agile practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing and Improving Data Quality: Performing tests on data to determine quality and integrity. Collaborating with data engineers, master data management team, and business users to improve data quality and integrity.
- Owning the Data Questions: Acting as Level 1 & 2 support for Data Questions coming into the Service Desk. Running data queries to locate issues and assess the impact of the issues. Engaging level 3 support from the master data management team or the data engineers to fix issues when needed.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the master data management team, data engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure data meets all stakeholders' expectations on data quality and integrity. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Automation and Tooling: Assist and support the implementation of automated processes and tools to streamline data management and improve efficiency.
- User Support and Training: Assist with the provision of support and training in Data Definitions, Business Rules, and the importance of data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
- Data Literacy Promotion: Assist with initiatives to increase data literacy across the organization, helping staff understand the importance of data and how to use it effectively.
