Role Overview
As a Data Scientist in the AI Enablement team at BASF SE, you will play a vital role in driving the AI transformation across the organization. Our team provides exceptional Data Science services to stakeholders, supporting data-driven use cases of strategic importance to BASF. Your main tasks will include collaborating with stakeholders to understand and support their data-driven use cases, delivering AI solutions that enable informed decision-making, and executing data science projects in the context of AI Enablement.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand and support their data-driven use cases.
• Deliver AI solutions that enable informed decision-making and drive business growth for our internal clients.
• Identify needs of our business partners and translate them into software specifications, working closely with other data scientists and roles like data & software engineers and architects to manage the development.
• Execute data science projects in the context of AI Enablement, including defining and evaluating use cases, developing algorithms, and effectively communicating results.
• Plan the implementation of solutions, choosing the right technologies and evaluating the evolution of the architecture as the clients' needs change.
• Ensure that your solutions are scalable, reproducible, and transparent, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
• Act as a catalyst for enablement, providing guidance and support to stakeholders in utilizing AI and Data Science to their fullest potential.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, Data Science, and related technologies, and proactively apply them to enhance the effectiveness of your solutions.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Analytics & AI Community at BASF, sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues.
Qualifications
A Master degree in the field of computer or data science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline with at least 3 years of (non-academic) work experience in a similar role. A Bachelor degree in the field of computer or data science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline with at least 5 years of (non-academic) work experience in a similar role. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, with practical hands-on experience. Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure or similar platforms.
