Key Responsibilities
As a member of the HE Space team working on the GAIA mission, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining software for an astronomical precision-astrometry mission;
- Maintaining software and algorithms in a multi-national environment;
- Developing new software to support space mission needs;
- Maintaining existing project software;
- Ensuring all phases of the software cycle are completed, from specifications to final release.
Required Qualifications
You will need:
- A Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Space Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field;
- Experience as a Numerical JAVA programmer;
- Knowledge of Gaia or astronomy;
- Experience with Linux;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Results-oriented and good relationship management skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory, with knowledge of another European language an advantage.
This role is located in Madrid, Spain, and is a temporary contract until the end of the year.
