Job Title: Customs Analyst

Reconocida empresa is seeking a highly skilled Customs Analyst to join our team. As a Customs Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all import/export regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and submit import/export reports to comply with Mexico and US regulations.
  2. Coordinate and manage all documentation for import/export, ensuring compliance with legal requirements for Mexico and US Customs.
  3. Represent the company in all Customs matters related to Mexico Customs and other government agencies in Mexico.
  4. Ensure compliance with internal Customs yearly forecast and financial analysis and reports related to budget.
  5. Analyze and review import/export balances and reconciliation of customs documents versus perpetual records.
  6. Ensure all applicable permits and licenses are obtained in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Ensure all Certificates of Origin are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Analyze and update the Customs System database to determine the origin of products.
  9. Ensure FDA Codes are in place when required for articles to be imported to the US.
  10. Request and control Chain of Custody letters for the FDA.
  11. Determine recommended tariff classification for all merchandise for US and Mexico Customs.
  12. Coordinate with US Broker resolution for any situation that may affect the operation of the company.
  13. Update data in Customs System.
  14. Conduct periodic audits/reviews of information loaded or updated into Customs System.
  15. Ensure implementation of changes related to SAAI and SQL at Customs System.
  16. Ensure procurement of department supplies and resources.
  17. Provide training as needed to Customers and Associates.
  18. Ensure proper record keeping and archiving of customs documents according to regulations and company policies and procedures.
  19. Perform the necessary actions and coordinate timely and secure flow of new product lines and transfers.
  20. Coordinate external audits of Customs department activities.
  21. Continuous review and update of internal controls and requirements related to international business operations of the company.
  22. Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area.
  23. Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.
  24. Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  25. For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
  26. Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  27. Perform other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Customs Administration, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or Commercial Relations required.
  2. 6-8 years of experience in Customs Analyst/Supervisor/Specialist role or equivalent position.
  3. Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  4. GMP/ISO knowledge.
  5. Knowledge of U.S/Mexico Customs Laws and Regulations and Foreign Trade Practices.
  6. Green Belt Certification preferred.
  7. Leadership skills.
  8. Verbal and written communication proficiency.
  9. Proactive attitude.
  10. Judgment and decision-making skills.
  11. Sense of urgency.
  12. Teamwork and collaboration.
  13. Accuracy and thoroughness.
  14. Ethics and Integrity.
  15. Working knowledge of multiple Customs Control software.
  16. Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Acrobat, Visio, etc.).
