Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Cubico Sustainable Investments Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our corporate Engineering function based in London, UK or Madrid, Spain.

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will be part of a centre of expertise in the business for technology, engineering and asset integrity, across all phases of an asset lifecycle. The successful candidate will provide support to local project teams and corporate business assurance across all matters related to Electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to country and corporate teams on Electrical engineering and technology for assets in different stages.
  • Carry out engineering and technical due diligence on potential acquisition projects, working proactively with country teams to develop solutions for mitigating risks and adding value.
  • Act as a technical coordinator within the corporate technical team managing external services providers.
  • Participate or lead projects to investigate RCA of performance issues, resolve defects, equipment failures and incidents on site to minimise downtime.
  • Perform reviews of system fault records and complex system analyses, such as protective coordination, fault studies, power quality, voltage stability, system expansion studies.
  • Review and ensure project's grid code compliance.
  • Develop and/or lead early-stage engineering designs for utility scale Electrical assets, including layouts, SLDs and equipment selection.
  • Undertake LCOE optimisation and analysis for new projects.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in engineering (Electrical) or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in engineering, preferably in the building of large power stations or PV or other utility-scale power projects.
  • Depth of knowledge of Electrical technology and subsystems, including good knowledge of the factors affecting Electrical plant performance.
  • Detailed knowledge of major component suppliers.
  • Experience in EPC, O&M and equipment supply agreements technical specifications / annexes drafting, proposals evaluation and negotiations.
