As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Welltech, you will join our Payments platform team supporting the creation and evolution of a platform to enable automated testing and ensure the quality and reliability of our payments processes. You will lead a small team of engineers and have the opportunity to mentor and guide them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Maintain Cloud Infrastructure: Use Infrastructure as Code and automation to create and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of three engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Provide Support: Offer support to other teams that utilize cloud infrastructure.
  • Design Scalable Infrastructure: Help other teams design scalable, reliable, secure infrastructure and write great documentation.
  • Plan Security Measures: Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protection of the product's data, systems, and networks.
  • Utilize Security Tools: Use security tools to monitor assets and remediate findings to strengthen the security posture of the product.
  • Respond to Security Events: Respond to system and/or network security events.
  • Use CI/CD: Utilize GitOps and CI/CD to automatically test and deploy your code.
  • Develop Periodical Processes: Develop and execute periodical security processes, including vulnerability scanning, patching and remediation, account auditing, and related reporting.
  • Daily Administrative Tasks: Perform daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
  • Communicate Effectively: Be able to clearly communicate your design choices and take feedback.
  • Research Solutions: Research solutions, kick the tires, and deploy prototypes.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of the latest and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Experience: Relevant 5+ years of experience as a DevOps with at least 4 years of experience with AWS.
  • AWS Services: Experience with various AWS services like EC2, S3, Aurora, RDS, EKS, MSK, API gateways, Route53, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, etc.
  • Hosting Applications: Experience in hosting multi-tier/microservice applications on AWS based on customer needs.
  • Scripting Languages: Comfortable using one of the following scripting languages for debugging applications, network issues, and vulnerabilities: Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, Shell.
  • Production Load: Ability to handle production load and issues related to deployments in production.
  • IaC Tools: Experience in setting up IaC using tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible or similar.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD, building and automating deployments & other repetitive tasks using Gitlab or similar.
  • Containerized Services: Knowledge of managing containerized services using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Cybersecurity Trends: Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Great communication and collaboration skills.
  • Language: English at the intermediate level at least, both written and spoken.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Service-Mesh Pattern: Knowledge of the service-mesh pattern and toolkit (Traefik, Istio, Consul, etc).
  • Gitlab Ultimate Features: Hands-on experience with Gitlab Ultimate security features.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
