CRAG is a leading research institution in plant and farm animal sciences, established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB).

Our research programs make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data, with a focus on basic science and applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops, and farm animals.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tender and Purchasing Coordinator Officer to join our team at CRAG. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all purchasing and tendering activities within the organization, ensuring compliance with established procedures, policies, and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and a proven track record of negotiating with suppliers, advising users on tender planning, and maintaining a cohesive knowledge-sharing environment.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Plan and coordinate purchasing and tendering department activities, ensuring adherence to procedures and policies.
  2. Prepare tender documents according to the Public Procurements Law and publish in the Contractor's Profile and other official bulletins.
  3. Supervise contract compliance and track indicators for the purchasing and tendering unit.
  4. Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations related to purchasing and tendering.
  5. Manage and coordinate centre tenders, facilitating knowledge sharing among team members.
  6. Evaluate negotiation strategies with suppliers and conduct market analysis.
  7. Advise centre users on tender planning and secure necessary permits for sample import/export.
  8. Maintain the ERP product database and contribute to warehouse control.
  9. Collaborate with institutions to improve work methods and processes.
Requirements
  1. University degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
  2. Knowledge and management of the Public Procurements Services Platform of the Catalan Government and the public register of contracts.
  3. Experience: 3 – 4 years related work experience.
  4. Experience in SAP business one will be a plus.
  5. Experience in research institute will be positively valued (CERCA).
  6. Experience in a centre with scientific activity and laboratory management is considered valuable.
  7. Knowledge of procurement regulations and market analysis.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in at least Catalan, Spanish, and English.

Working Conditions
  1. Permanent position.
  2. Working day: Full 37.5 hours/week.
  3. Remuneration: depending on the experience and qualifications provided and framed within the salary structure of CRAG.
  4. Facilities for balance work and personal life through teleworking and flexible working hours, 22 days of holidays, 9 free days of personal matters; intensive working hours on summer and Fridays.

  6. Centre placed in UAB Campus.
