Head of Epidemiology and Real World Evidence Strategy

Drive strategic decision-making and innovation by providing epidemiology and real-world evidence (RWE) strategy, guidance, and leadership. This role leverages RWE to generate a strategic life-cycle local evidence plan for pipeline and marketed products, maximizing product value and anticipating future company needs from early development phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop integrated local evidence plans to support business development initiatives.
  2. Design and develop non-interventional studies to inform RWE strategies.
  3. Provide critical review and input on study proposals, expert statements, and data sources for RWE studies.
  4. Build and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders to advance RWE initiatives.
  5. Review and summarize medical literature to support study development and internal decision-making.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify synergies with RWE corporate strategy and local needs.
  7. Communicate RWE study results to internal and external stakeholders, including management, regulators, and scientific societies.
  8. Provide RWE and epidemiology advice and training to stakeholders, building internal capabilities.
  9. Lead and develop the local team, focusing on talent management and development.

Requirements:

  1. Training in epidemiology, medicine, outcomes research, health services research, economics, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or academia.
  2. Strong understanding of epidemiology and RWE principles.
  3. Knowledge of local healthcare and reimbursement systems, regulatory processes, and data sources.
  4. Epidemiology methods background, statistical skills, and medical/pharmacological knowledge.
  5. Experience with healthcare claims and/or electronic medical record databases.
  6. Basic pharmacovigilance knowledge.
  7. Strong written and verbal skills in English and Spanish.
  8. Proactive, responsible, and accountable, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional groups.
