Responsibilities
As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer, your role will involve the deployment, scaling, and maintenance of core services within the Workato Platform. You will collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Developers in a small, agile team, significantly influencing the modernization and evolution of our platform, including critical infrastructure architecture decisions.
We are in search of an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a specialization in databases (or a strong interest in this area) to enhance our dynamic Infrastructure Unit. Your primary focus will be on developing a robust global distributed platform that supports all Workato components seamlessly. You will tackle various non-standard challenges related to the scaling and reliability of our services.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Proven experience in building distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Linux, including troubleshooting and identifying performance bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse at the administration level is preferred, but candidates with experience in similar databases (PostgreSQL, Vertica, MongoDB, etc.) will also be considered.
- Understanding of network architecture, with skills in troubleshooting and incident resolution in production environments, including writing post-mortems.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes, including installation and configuration of operators.
- Basic knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages, such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Skills in Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code.
- Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work remotely with teams distributed across various time zones.
- Proficient spoken English, sufficient for technical discussions and collaboration with colleagues.
