About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Researcher in Machine Learning for Histopathology Image Analysis to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a Researcher, you will be responsible for developing and applying machine learning methods for histopathology image analysis in human development.

About the Team

The Transcriptomics and Functional Genomics Lab at BSC is interested in understanding how the information encoded in our genome determines gene expression variation across individuals, tissues, and cells. To address this, we use a combination of cutting-edge computational analyses, next-generation sequencing, and high-throughput functional assays.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, computational biology, and genomics. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and applying machine learning methods for histopathology image analysis
  • Collaborating with our team to integrate machine learning methods with other computational analyses
  • Contributing to the development of new research lines and projects
About the Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A PhD in computational biology, genomics, bioinformatics, statistical genetics, single-cell genomics, population genetics, AI, or a related field
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, or R
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
  • Fluency in English is essential, proficiency in Spanish and other European languages is advantageous
