Job Description
As a Commissioning Field Engineer with Caterpillar, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation and commissioning of complex projects at designated sites. You will work closely with the Project Manager and District Service Manager to develop and implement technical and logistical strategies for project execution. Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing and overseeing the strategy for on-site installation, commissioning, and final customer acceptance of assigned packages.
Identifying and communicating potential project problems to Business Management, the District, or the appropriate engineering discipline.
Working with the Project Manager and District to develop the technical and logistical strategy for the commissioning of the project.
Acting as a lead FSR and assisting field personnel on the solution of field problems related to the installation and commissioning of projects.
Assisting the customer in developing a realistic schedule for installation and commissioning, anticipating and removing roadblocks that could impede progress.
Documenting activities through comprehensive field activity reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in commissioning and project management, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. We are looking for candidates who are self-initiated, capable of directing personnel and resources at the work site during critical stages of the project, and willing to travel for extended periods of time to both domestic and international locations.
