Competitive Grants Unit Specialist

Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. The institute is oriented towards finding solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social, and economic development within its area of competence.

The National Projects Unit will support the scientific community at Vall d'Hebron throughout the full lifecycle of national competitive projects. The Unit encourages and supports researchers in the pursuit of national competitive funding for research, detecting opportunities and contributing to the development of quality proposals.

We are currently looking for a person to join the team as a Competitive Grants Unit Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a university degree related to the job description duties and excellent written and oral communication skills in Catalan and/or Spanish. Additional training in competitive research projects and a good level of English will be valued.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Managing grant budgets, preparing financial reports, and audits. Monitoring project work plans, scientific reports, and implementation of grant agreements. Anticipating possible deviations during project implementation, planning risk contingency actions if necessary. Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and sponsoring agency regulations. Serving as liaison between researchers and funding agencies. Any other duties related to the job as requested to contribute to the general functioning of the Research Grants Office.

Labour Conditions:

Full-time position: 40h/week. Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale. Contract: Open-ended contract linked to the project.
