About this Role

R&D Solutions Architects with strong software engineering skills and a passion for architecting and developing solutions to show customers the art of the possible are sought after at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As part of an agile team of innovative practitioners, you will be obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers and partner with them in experimenting with new ideas that can open up new markets or radically change how they deliver existing products and services.

Key Responsibilities

This role will focus on customers using AWS for research, development, and innovation. You will:

  • Architect, develop, test, and implement loosely coupled distributed software solutions.
  • Research and employ up-to-date technological developments in customer engagements.
  • Drive the AWS platform by aligning customer requirements with AWS service teams' roadmaps.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and English, in technical and business settings (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective, Experience writing and publishing technical white papers, History of successful technical sales consulting and architecture engagements (i.e., working prototype solutions, POCs), Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and engineers, Solid communication skills with the ability to right level the conversation, Master or PHD in Computer Science, Engineering and/or equivalent industry experience.
