Sustaining Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Sustaining Engineering Manager to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading a distributed team of engineers and driving the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and lead a distributed team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Hire, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members, promoting growth and development within the organization.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business needs, including bug fixes, patches, and other software development projects.
- Advocate for modern software development practices and promote a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
- Work closely with senior management and external stakeholders to set and manage expectations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Proven experience in software delivery using C, C++, Go, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of software development principles and practices, including testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
- Leadership experience, with a track record of organizing and prioritizing complex problem resolution and bug fixes.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and debugging tools, such as GDB.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Linux and Open Source software, with a preference for Ubuntu.
