Job Title: Transmission Network Engineer

At Engineeringuk, we're seeking a skilled Transmission Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you'll be responsible for proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving faults across our pan-European Ethernet and optical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and troubleshoot faults on our Ethernet and optical networks
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in accordance with product SLAs
  • Provide a professional interface to customers, acting as a single point of contact for all their issues
  • Build and maintain working relationships with key interconnect partners and vendors
  • Manage and coordinate tasks assigned to other teams, such as Field Maintenance or Technical Assistance Centre
Requirements:
  • Direct experience in Transmission Services and Technologies, including MSP, PCM, Ethernet, WDM, DWDM, TDM, ADM, DCS, DXC, SDH, and PDH
  • Proven working experience with vendors and their associated transmission equipment and management systems, such as Marconi, ALU, Lucent, Nortel, Nokia, NSN, Siemens, Overture, Adva, Infinera, Aspen, Netcool, Smarts, Ciena, and Accedian
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN (Ethernet) based products and experience with network management and support systems, such as Netcool, SMARTS, CiscoWorks, InfoVista, TACACS, and Vendor Specific Element Managers
