Job Summary

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to join our team in Barcelona. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from concept to completion, working closely with our Project Managers and Project Architects to ensure seamless delivery. Your expertise will be essential in driving the design process, managing junior team members, and delivering high-quality results that meet our clients' expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Architects to develop and implement project strategies
  • Lead and manage junior team members to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive drawing sets from concept to construction documents
  • Generate detailed 3D models to support the design process
  • Provide technical detailing and construction administration expertise to resolve design issues
  • Communicate and coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies, and approving bodies to meet project objectives
  • Deliver high-quality results that meet BIG's standards and client expectations

Requirements

  • Professional qualification as an Architect or equivalent overseas qualification
  • 10+ years of professional experience in all phases of the design process
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Strong technical skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and Grasshopper
  • Knowledge of products, materials, zoning/building codes, and construction methods
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
