Job Description

nscglobal's Head of Global Logistics Management is a critical role responsible for ensuring customers receive their hardware accurately and on time.

The role focuses on managing logistics elements such as inventory, warehousing, staging, reverse logistics, and import/export processes, aiming to deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with customers from tendering through business integration into NSC, demonstrating strong customer-facing skills.
  2. Collaborate within multiple project teams to achieve objectives.
  3. Ensure timely delivery within budget, managing operations to meet and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  4. Manage regional third-party carriers, selecting best-in-class providers, processes, and systems to attract and retain customers.
  5. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and laws, facilitating safe and efficient transportation while staying ahead of legal and customs changes.
  6. Serve as the interface with senior stakeholders to develop regional service offerings.
  7. Coordinate with senior stakeholders across various departments including Operations, Procurement, Finance, HR, and Commercial.
  8. Utilize data analytics to inform business decisions and strategies.
  9. Develop, critique, and present proposals and reports supported by business cases.
  10. Oversee the entire supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
  11. Implement strategic plans to enhance supply chain operations.
  12. Manage people development, HR issues, and recruitment efforts.
  13. Be available to visit customer offices and third-party providers, especially during transitions.

Qualifications:

  1. In-depth knowledge of logistics, particularly within the EU post-Brexit, focusing on cost-effective and compliant movement paths.
  2. Background in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain management, with comprehensive understanding of all supply chain elements.
  3. Experience in executing large-scale customer transactions.
  4. Degree qualification is advantageous.
  5. At least 5 years of Warehouse or Operations Management experience.
  6. Experience in IT hardware logistics distribution is beneficial.
  7. Familiarity with freight forwarding, customs, and import/export processes, including IOR/EOR.
  8. Experience at managerial levels such as Warehouse Manager, Depot Manager, or Head of Logistics.
  9. Global experience or perspective, with a passion for sustainability.
  10. IOSH or NEBOSH certifications are desirable but not essential.
  11. Experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies proactively, with effective action plans.
  12. Industry management experience.
  13. Competence in using data to identify risks, opportunities, and develop innovative ideas.
