Job Description:
As a key member of the Schreiber Foods team, the Sustainability Director will lead the organization's sustainability strategies and initiatives in Europe, driving the company's vision to be a responsible environmental steward and thought leader in the industry.
The successful candidate will ensure cross-functional alignment and coordination in pursuit of Schreiber's sustainability objectives, including climate change, sustainable packaging, and resource recovery. They will engage with clients and external stakeholders to understand their sustainability objectives and provide expert advice on best practices and sustainability trends.
The Sustainability Director will oversee budgeting and financial forecasting for sustainability initiatives and work collaboratively with cross-functional leaders to develop and implement sustainability tools. They will also establish and audit processes to ensure customer requirements are met.
To succeed in this role, the candidate will require an MBA or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environment Science, Business, or a related field, along with 8+ years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, data analytics, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate GHG accounting, agriculture, and/or dairy, with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
What you'll do:
Develop and advance sustainability strategies and initiatives in Europe, focusing on climate change, regulatory compliance, and data management.
Provide expert advice and technical guidance to employees and clients on best practices, standards, and sustainability trends.
Ensure accurate, complete, and timely execution of client-driven sustainability data requests and surveys, and lead metric-based tracking of sustainability progress.
Work closely with customers to align and meet sustainability goals and requirements.
Oversee budgeting and financial forecasting for sustainability initiatives and related activities in Europe.
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop, implement, and monitor sustainability tools.
Create standardized processes and sustainability tools/forms for Schreiber locations, in collaboration with peers in other areas of the world.
Deploy excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to drive success.
Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements.
Interpret and communicate customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups.
Establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met.
Review incidents during which the procedures are not met and determine appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
What you need to succeed:
MBA/Masters in Sustainability, Environment Science, Business, or other relevant field.8+ years of experience in Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Data Analytics, Environmental Engineering, Climate Accounting, Business, Supply Chain.
