Category Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our Central Procurement team at Norsk Hydro. As a Category Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, cost, and time of our procurement projects, supporting our business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Initiation: Collaborate with stakeholders to align project scope and objectives.
2. Project Planning: Develop a comprehensive project plan from initiation to implementation.
3. Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with internal stakeholders and ensure all relevant stakeholders are engaged throughout the project.
4. Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors, ensuring alignment of project plans and scheduling meetings, obtaining proposals, and facilitating the contracting process.
5. Supplier Identification: Identify key suppliers from our existing supplier panel and scout new suppliers to challenge incumbents.
6. Supplier Leadership: Lead all interactions with key suppliers.
7. Tender Management: Lead complex and large-scale tenders, conducting fact-based negotiations with suppliers using advanced tender assessment analytics.
8. Supplier Selection: Review and select suppliers with whom we can build long-term customer/supplier relationships.
9. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate, draft, and finalize multi-year contractual agreements establishing strong commercial and legal contract terms.
10. Supplier Management: Lead and develop supplier management initiatives, including identification and tracking of KPIs, business review meetings, and savings initiatives.
11. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Management: Act as a leader in managing the TCO within the category, coordinating all actors in procurement and functional stakeholders.
