Job Summary
Deimos Space is seeking a highly skilled Flight Software Engineer to join our team in the development and validation of embedded software and hardware systems for space vehicles. As a key member of our Flight Software Systems Competence Centre, you will be responsible for leading the verification and validation process, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in software engineering, particularly in testing and verification approaches. You will be responsible for:
- Leading the verification and validation process according to the SW Development and Product Assurance Plans
- Verifying software requirements and design, including readability, correctness, completeness, and traceability
- Verifying source code, including defining applicable coding standards and mechanisms to ensure compliance
- Specifying unit tests, integration tests, and validation tests, maintaining traceability to software requirements
- Contributing to the definition of the validation platform(s) where tests shall be executed
- Participating in Independent Software Verification and Validation (ISVV) projects
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognized engineering degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the practical application of software engineering domains, with a strong focus on testing and verification
- Industrial experience in the aerospace sector and/or critical software development
- Knowledge of ECSS standards related to SW development, particularly ECSS-E-ST-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-80C
- Experience or knowledge of SW Coding Standards (MISRA-C)
- Good programming skills in C, C++, and Python
- Knowledge of software configuration control tools (e.g. GIT, SVN)
