Job Title: Principal Data Scientist

At OLX, we're on a mission to build a more sustainable world through trade. We're looking for a talented Principal Data Scientist to join our Generative AI Data Science team and help us establish cutting-edge video services for all OLX customer units.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled data scientist with expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models. As a Principal Data Scientist, you'll provide technical guidance to a team of 4-5 Data Scientists and a Machine Learning Engineer. Your primary focus will be on building and deploying disruptive Generative AI video services at scale across all OLX platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to the data science team and ensure the successful achievement of research and development objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive scalable impact and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders and data engineers.
  • Work with Product Analytics to track KPIs and measure the impact of ML use cases on our customers.
  • Partner with the Experimentation team to integrate KPIs and proxies into the Experimentation platform.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive scalable impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to a broad audience.
  • Experience with cloud-based tools, such as AWS Athena, AWS Sagemaker, and AWS Kinesis.
  • Strong engineering background with good knowledge of Python and exposure to one more programming language.
