We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Developer with expertise in Web Accessibility to join our team at Amaris Consulting.
As a Frontend Developer with Accessibility Expertise, you will be responsible for ensuring that our websites and applications are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct web accessibility audits on home pages, Product Detail Pages (PDP), and Product Listing Pages (PLP) to identify areas for improvement.
- Review and update websites to ensure 100% WCAG A & AA compliance, using your knowledge of accessibility best practices and testing tools.
- Collaborate with the development and design teams to create accessible features, ensuring that all digital products meet the highest standards of accessibility.
- Implement code fixes and improvements to ensure keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and accessible design.
- Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure compliance across all platforms, including desktop, mobile, and assistive technologies.
- Provide regular reports on accessibility compliance and progress to stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date.
- 5+ years of experience in Frontend Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Deep understanding of WCAG (A, AA) compliance and web accessibility best practices.
- Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools such as Axe Dev Tools, Wave, Monsido, DEQUE, VoiceOver Mac, and Google Lighthouse.
- Experience with Product Detail Pages (PDP) and Product Listing Pages (PLP) in e-commerce environments.
- Ability to perform web accessibility audits, and implement code-level fixes.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in international, remote teams.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including UX, product, and development teams.
- Fluent in English (knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus).
