About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fermentation Technologist to join our team at Danone. As a leading food and beverage company, we are committed to innovation and excellence in our products and processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and benchmarking new strains and fermentation solutions to enhance product superiority, optimal nutrition, and specific health benefits across all product categories.

Main Responsibilities
  • Strain Biodiversity and Fermentation Process Integration: Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to integrate strains biodiversity, fermentation processes, and emerging technological, molecular, and digital approaches.
  • Support and Advice: Provide support and advice to R&I product development teams for the implementation of fermentation and fermentation solutions.
  • Fermentation R&I Strategy: Contribute to the development of fermentation R&I strategy in collaboration with other experts in the field.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Handle synergies with other R&I functions, UX, engineering, quality, operations, and procurement.
About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with:

  • Education: PhD in Microbiology or applied fermentation.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in the field of microbiology, culture, and fermentation.
  • Languages: Good level of English and Spanish.
  • Stakeholders: Large interaction with culture suppliers and partners (public, private), with R&I cross categories, C&P, R&I, UX, Quality internal functions.
  • Travel Requirements: Availability to travel about 30% of time to visit suppliers, partners, and EU teams.
