Job Summary:
The Lighting Artist will play a crucial role in the success of our game development team at Gameloft. As a key member of the Art department, this individual will be responsible for creating high-quality lighting solutions for game environments, characters, and other important assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Art Direction and Art Teams: Work closely with the Art Direction and Art teams to provide lighting solutions that meet the company's quality and functionality requirements.
- Lighting for Game Environments: Create lighting for game environments, menus, and character showcases, as well as other important game assets.
- Lighting Optimization: Proactively identify areas that can benefit from lighting work and sync with artists to ensure optimal results.
- Technical Lighting Elements: Place and maintain all technical lighting elements in the environments, such as probes.
- Lighting Bug Fixing and Optimization: Be responsible for lighting optimization, defining alternatives that work on lower-end platforms when required, as well as bug fixing.
- Mesh and Texture Creation: Create the meshes and textures required to fulfill lighting needs.
- Process Improvement: Proactively seek improvements in both workflow and techniques to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of lighting principles and techniques.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
